I was headhunted to be Lead Author of Time Out’s Amsterdam guidebook, as a then-resident of the city. The project involved researching and summarising Amsterdam’s rich cultural, political and geographical history; crafting various feature pieces to capture the city’s appeal and profiling prominent cultural figures to provide insider-only information.

‘Multi-disciplinary, high quality and long lasting’ is how Amsterdam’s Nachtburgemeester (Night Mayor) describes the city’s cultural offering when the sun goes down. Once typecast by tales of debauchery and crude excess, Amsterdam’s nocturnal scene is now mentioned in the same breath as New York, London and Berlin – despite being a fraction of their size.
